Commercial Video Production : Color Palette Analysis Part 1

We feel that color palette is so important to the overall of a video, both aesthetically, but also psychologically and in terms of communication of your message. It's such a subjective thing that not only conveys a style, but also has deeper subconscious effects. Of course the choice of locations, and the color of your lighting, your art, props, and wardrobe impacts this, but you can also do a lot with colorgrading after the video is finished. I typically prefer a simple palette with 2, 3, or 4 distinct colors. Here are some key shots from some of our favorite projects, and a simple analysis of the colors in the frame:
